Alhamdulillah! A Milestone for IIUM Alumni Bangladesh Chapter🇧🇩🇲🇾

Alhamdulillah! We are delighted and proud to announce that IIUM Alumni Bangladesh Chapter has officially been registered today with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies & Firms (RJSC), Bangladesh.

From the very beginning, the first priority of the Executive Committee of IIUM Alumni Bangladesh Chapter (2026–2028) was to complete the formal registration of our association. Alhamdulillah, with the collective efforts, dedication, and support of our alumni community, we have successfully accomplished this important milestone today.

On behalf of the Executive Committee, I, Dr. Md. Tuhin Mia, Secretary General, would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all our respected alumni, well-wishers, senior brothers and sisters, and everyone who has extended their support, cooperation, advice, and guidance throughout this journey.

A special note of gratitude goes to Dr. M. Abdul Aziz, President of IIUM Alumni Bangladesh Chapter, for his tireless efforts, rigorous dedication, continuous support, and valuable guidance in making this registration a reality. His commitment to the alumni community has been truly inspiring.

With the completion of the registration, our society will officially be known as:

Society for IIUM Alumni Bangladesh (SIAB)

This registration marks not an ending, but the beginning of a new chapter for the IIUM alumni community in Bangladesh. From now on, it is time to move forward with our plans, strengthen our alumni network, promote meaningful collaboration, support our fellow alumni, and contribute positively to our society and country.

Alhamdulillah for this achievement.

Now, it’s time to work according to our plans and turn our vision into reality.

Long way to go. In Sha Allah, together we will build a stronger and more vibrant IIUM Alumni community in Bangladesh.

সেই একই স্টাইল, সেই হেলমেট, অস্র আর হামলা!!!

২৪ এর জুলাইয়ের পরও এই দিন দেখতে হবে, সেটা আশা করিনি।

হাসিনাকে শেষ করেছে ছাত্রলীগ, আর বিএনপিকে শেষ করবে ছাত্রদল।

হাসিনা ছাত্রলীগকে কন্ট্রোল করতে পারেনি, তারেক রহমানও পারছেনা।

যাইহোক, ৫ই আগস্টকে ভুলিয়ে দেয়াটা ছিলো উদ্দেশ্য। বিএনপি এক্ষেত্রে সফল। তবে প্রশ্ন, জুলাইকে ভুলিয়ে লাভটা কার হচ্ছে?

Sometimes, the best way to recharge is to step away from the office, deadlines, and the endless workload.

This time, my friends and I escaped to the breathtaking beauty of Cox's Bazar, where we spent some truly quality time together. The magical weather—sunshine, refreshing rain, and clouds painting the sky—made every moment extraordinary and unforgettable. Beyond the scenic views, this trip reminded us of the importance of taking a break, strengthening friendships, and refreshing our minds. Such moments are not a luxury; they are essential for improving both the quality of our lives and our work.

If time permits, we definitely hope to travel together again. Here's to creating more memories, finding balance, and returning with renewed energy for the challenges ahead.

I was delighted to attend the wedding ceremony of Nur Habiba Binte Mahbub, beloved daughter of Prof. Dr. ABM Mahbubul Islam, Director of the IQAC at Manarat International University and Adviser of the IIUM Alumni Bangladesh Chapter. The auspicious occasion was graced by His Excellency Br. Shuhada Uthman, the Honourable High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh, along with his family members.

My heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the newlywed couple. May Allah bless them with a beautiful, peaceful, prosperous, and enduring conjugal life filled with love, happiness, and barakah.

I am delighted to have participated in the 2nd International Conference on the July Revolution, held at the University of Dhaka.

The conference brought together numerous scholars, researchers, and academics from different parts of the world and from various universities across Bangladesh. The diversity of perspectives and the depth of academic discussions made the conference truly fruitful, profound, and insightful.

I was particularly fortunate to have the opportunity to moderate three different parallel sessions of the conference. More than 20 presenters presented their research papers, engaging in meaningful academic discussions and receiving valuable feedback from the session chairs, fellow presenters, authors, and experts.

The conference provided a remarkable platform for intellectual exchange, critical reflection, and deeper academic engagement with the July Revolution of 2024. It was indeed one of the most enriching and insightful academic programmes I have ever attended on this significant subject.

I am grateful to the organisers, scholars, researchers, presenters, and everyone involved in making this important academic gathering a success.

দৃশ্যটা ফিলিস্তিনের গাযা ভূখন্ডের, যেখানে অর্ধাহারে অনাহারে থাকা ফিলিস্তিনিরা ধ্বংসস্তূপের বসে বিগ স্ক্রিনে খেলা দেখছিল মিসরকে সাপোর্ট দিয়ে।

এবারের বিশ্বকাপে ফিলিস্তিনের পক্ষে সবচেয়ে ভোকাল ছিল মিসরের কোচ হুসাম হাসান। এর আগের ম্যাচে জয়ের পর সে জয়টা ফিলিস্তিনিদের জন্য উৎসর্গ করেছিল। ফিলিস্তিনের বিশাল পতাকা গায়ে জড়িয়ে মাঠে ছবি তুলেছিল।

ফুটবলের সাথে জড়িত মানুষজন যে যথেষ্ট পরিমাণে ফিলিস্তিনের জন্য ভোকাল না, সেটার সমালোচনা করেছিল। স্পষ্টভাবে বলেছিল - যারা ফিলিস্তিনিদের দুঃখ-দুর্দশা অনুভব করে না, তারা মানুষের কাতারেই পড়ে না।

তার এইসব বক্তব্যের সমর্থনে গাযাবাসীর মধ্যে ব্যাপক উৎসাহ দেখা গেছে। তারা বিভিন্ন জায়গায় তার ছবি/পোস্টার লাগিয়েছে। তাকে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে কন্টেন্ট তৈরি করেছে। মিসরের পতাকা দিয়ে গাযা ভূখন্ড ছেয়ে গেছে।

বিপরীতে ইসরায়েলের বিভিন্ন কর্মকর্তা, কয়েকটা দেশের ইসরায়েলি দূতাবাস সরাসরি গতকালের ম্যাচে আর্জেন্টিনার পক্ষ সাপোর্ট করে টুইট করেছে। প্রধানত হুসাম হাসানের এই অবস্থানের কারণেই।

এছাড়াও গতকাল মাঠে প্রো-ইসরায়েলি আর্জেন্টাইন সমর্থকদেরকে ইসরায়েলি পতাকা ওড়াতে দেখা গেছে। মিসরীয় সাপোর্টারদের প্রতি রেসিস্ট সাইন ইউজ করতে দেখা গেছে।

খেলা শেষ হওয়ার পরপরই ইসরায়েলিদেরকে তেল-আবিবসহ বিভিন্ন জায়গায় আনন্দ র‌্যালি বের করতে দেখা গেছে। ইসরায়েলি কর্মকর্তারা শুধু আর্জেন্টিনা জয়ী হয়েছে - এজন্য না, বরং মিসর যে পরাজিত হয়েছে, সেজন্য আনন্দ প্রকাশ করে টুইট করেছে।

খেলা অনেক সময়ই শুধুমাত্র খেলা থাকে না। এর সাথে রাজনীতি মিশে থাকে। ইসরায়েলিরা গতকালের ম্যাচটাকে নিছক খেলা হিসেবে দেখেনি। তারা এটাকে দেখেছে ফিলিস্তিনের সাথে তাদের যুদ্ধের এক্সটেনশন হিসেবে।

তারা মিসরীয় কোচের উপর ক্ষুব্ধ ছিল তার ফিলিস্তিনের পক্ষে লাউড ভয়েসের জন্য। তার প্রতি গাযাবাসীর সমর্থনের জন্য।

এবং সেই জবাবটা ইসরায়েলের সমর্থকরা শুধু গ্যালারিতে পতাকা উড়িয়ে দেয়নি, ইসরায়েলি বাহিনী গাযায় বিমান হামলা করেও দিয়েছে। খেলা শুরু হওয়ার ঠিক আগে ইসরায়েল বিমান হামলা করে গাযায় "ইজিপশিয়ান কমিটি"র পাবলিক রিলেশান্স বিভাগরে ডাইরেক্টর মোহাম্মদ আল-ওয়াহিদিকে হত্যা করে।

ত্রাণ বিতরণসহ অন্যান্য কার্যক্রমের পাশাপাশি আল-ওয়াহিদির অন্যতম দায়িত্ব ছিল সব ধরনের বিনোদন থেকে বঞ্চিত গাযাবাসী যেন পাবলিক মাঠে বিশ্বকাপ উপভোগ করতে পারে, সেই আয়োজন করা।

গাযাবাসী যখন মিসরকে সমর্থন দিয়ে খেলা দেখতে বসবে, ঠিক মুহূর্তেই ইসরায়েল সেই খেলা দেখার সুযোগ যারা করে দিয়েছে, সেই বিভাগের পরিচালককে হত্যা করেছে - এটাকে কাকতালীয় ভাবা কঠিন।

এই হচ্ছে দুনিয়া, এই হচ্ছে "খেলার সাথে রাজনীতি মেশাবেন না"র বাস্তবতা।

I have received hundreds of birthday greetings through different platforms. Although I sincerely wanted to respond to each one personally, it was unfortunately not possible. I am truly sorry if I could not reply to your message individually. Please know that I have read your wishes with great appreciation, and every single message means a lot to me. Your kindness, love, and prayers are a blessing that I deeply cherish.
