BIPSS Internship

Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) is a leading institution in Bangladesh for informed analysis of all aspects of the broad the spectrum of peace and security studies in the region and beyond. It is a non-party, non-profit organization and independent think tank, which provides a significant platform for the leading strategic thinkers, academics, former members of the civil, foreign and armed services, and media persons to chalk out a comprehensive framework for peace and security issues.

We are looking for dynamic, aspiring researchers passionate about international politics, economics and security and looking forward to enriching their career path by working on climate change, global health, peace and security, geo-economics, geo-energy, etc.

Duration: 3 (minimum) to 6 (maximum) months (Duration might be extended based on performance)

Responsibilities:

1. Complete and submit an analytical study on a contemporary issue
affecting security in the region and internationally in about 7,000-8,000
words.

2. Publish commentaries on contemporary issues about traditional and non-traditional security.

3. Assist towards drafting monthly reports, press releases, concept notes, research proposals, budgets, etc.

4. Act as rapporteur during BIPSS events.

5. Conduct literature review, analyze data and create Data Visualizations;

6. Create a detailed research design and methodology to achieve the study objectives

7. Assisting in Communications and Social Coordination Responsibilities.

Requirements:

1. A Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations, History, Peace and Conflict Studies, Economics or relevant discipline.
2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
3. Ability to undertake multiple tasks simultaneously.
4. Must have strong critical thinking skills, ability to identify substantive problems that threaten the research activities and creative capacity to resolve these problems

Event and Social Media Coordinator "

Bangladesh Institute of Peace and Security Studies (BIPSS) is a leading institution in Bangladesh for informed analysis on all aspects of broad spectrum of peace and security studies in the region and beyond. It is a non-party, non-profit organization searching for a dynamic and motivated Female event and social media coordinator to undertake event coordination and social media responsibilities. The concern will be responsible for every part of event preparations, such as choosing venues, approving menus, developing seating plans, and evaluating success afterward. As the event coordinator, she should be well-organized and possess a sound knowledge of vendor management. Excellent communication and attention to detail skills are vital in this role, as our success depends on the ex*****on in accordance to our requirements and standards.

Responsibilities:
• Identifying the requirements and expectations for each event;
• Planning the event from start to finish;
• Managing and tracking the event budgets for optimal efficiency;
• Working out the logistics (venue, catering, photography, scheduling
Speakers);
• Sending emails/text messages to the attendees if needed (last minute venue
Or schedule changes);
• Maintaining liaise with vendors, exhibitors, and stakeholders during the event
planning process to ensure everything is in order;
• Managing event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes;
• Conducting final inspections on the day of the event to ensure everything
adheres to the organization’s standards;
• Assessing an event’s overall success, scripting press releases and submitting
reports;
• Brainstorming ideas for social media content;
• Developing and executing the social media strategy;
• Monitoring social media channels for industry trends

Requirements:
• Interested candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline;
• Must have strong proficiency in English (Written and Spoken)
• Outstanding negotiation skills and problem-solving skills;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• High detail-orientation;
• Proficiency in social media management
• Ability to work in a multicultural and multi-perspective environment

BIPSS is looking for a dynamic Female to join in the capacity of “Event Coordinator”.

Responsibilities:

• Identifying the requirements and expectations for each event
• Liaise with vendors, exhibitors and stakeholders during the
event planning process to ensure everything is in order
• Planning event aspects, such as venue, seating, dining, and
guest list
• Managing event set-up, tear down, and follow-up processes
• Maintaining event budgets
• Booking venues, photographers and scheduling speakers
• Delegating event planning tasks to other staff members where
necessary
• Anticipating and planning for different scenarios
• Conducting final inspections on the day of the event to ensure
everything adheres to the organization’s standards
• Assessing an event’s overall success, scripting press release
and submitting reports
• Handling BIPSS social media accounts

Requirements:

• Interested candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree.
