Kormi is a one-stop skill matching platform where we are creating opportunities for our every last mile youths. The main problems that Kormi addresses are;
● NGOs, Impact organizations, startups, and businesses had nowhere to turn when they required a large, temporary workforce for non-routine tasks (for example, to scale up interventions, to bring remote communities under emergency response pro
grams, to onboard users at scale for a new/growing startup, to conduct large scale customer surveys, to recruit enumerators across multiple districts on an ad-hoc basis, etc)
● Marginalized and vulnerable groups living in remote areas of the country were often left out of NGO impact programs because the NGOs lacked the distributed manpower capacity to reach these persons.
● Young people with a desire to contribute to society had no easily-accessible platform where volunteering opportunities were aggregated.
● Young, educated students and fresh graduates from semi-urban and rural areas had very little access to paid and unpaid opportunities that could strengthen their CVs, groom them for teamwork in a professional environment, give them working experience and generally increase their employability. So, the problem that Kormi tries to solve is the efficient use of human resources. Our approach is innovative because we are solving this problem in both directions. We are creating safe, meaningful opportunities for youths while providing organizations with scalable, on-demand workforces to carry out one-off or large-scale projects. Such needs are typically felt in CSR, Market research, Product testing, activation campaigns for businesses and emergency aid relief, awareness campaigns, community-led interventions, etc for development organizations. In line with SDG 1,2,3 and 8, we want to create seamless collaboration between young people and organizations to the benefit of young people, their communities, and the economy as a whole. By allowing businesses to access local support on-demand, we are creating short-term employment for interested volunteers in semi-urban and rural areas as well as cities. Furthermore, our platform enables NGOs to reach marginalized groups in remote areas on a scale that has never been possible through the existing model of hiring permanent employees and setting up field offices for each new area of expansion.
