We’re excited to introduce our newest team member to Active HR, Rafiki 🐢

Rafiki recently joined the office as our Trainee HR Hound and, after a strong start during probation, he’s officially secured ongoing employment.

At first, he arrived full of energy, enthusiasm, and an obvious passion for workplace culture. Since receiving confirmation of his role, however, there have been some concerns about his performance… namely being caught sleeping on the job more than once.

That said, he continues to excel in key areas including:
🌟 boosting team morale.
🌟 greeting visitors with enthusiasm.
🌟 and looking adorable in meetings.

We’re considering whether a Performance Improvement Plan is necessary… or whether extra pats and snacks might be the more appropriate management strategy. Open to suggestions from our followers

Safe to say Rafiki has already become a very popular addition to the team although he does keep Brydi on her toes retrieving chew items from her office. 🐾

Rafiki works part time and is sometimes accompanying Shan to client sites to extend the pooch affection however if you choose to come by the office one day you may get to meet the one who stole "employee of the month" for May.

Over the past 6 months, the teams at Belgian Gardens and James Cook University Post Office have come together after hours for a couple of hours each month to invest in something that matters, their people, their values, and the way they work together.

We explored teamwork, communication skills, customer service, accountability, problem solving, wellbeing, resilience, psychological safety and respect, but the biggest wins went far beyond the workshop content.
