Connections, conversations and opportunity at Connect 2026.

Boorloo Labour Director David Jones spent the past two days at Supply Nation’s Connect 2026 in Boorloo (Perth), joining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, corporate organisations and government representatives from across Australia.
 
Held on Whadjuk Country, Connect is Supply Nation’s flagship Indigenous business event and this year’s theme, ‘Journey’, provided a fitting backdrop for two days focused on progress, growth, resilience and opportunity.
 
For Boorloo Labour, events like Connect are an important opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, build new ones, share experiences with other Indigenous businesses and continue conversations with organisations committed to genuine supplier diversity and Indigenous participation.
 
There were plenty of familiar faces, new connections and valuable conversations across the Knowledge Forum, networking opportunities and Indigenous Business Tradeshow.
 
As an Aboriginal-owned WA business, we’re proud to be part of a growing Indigenous business sector and to continue building partnerships that create meaningful and sustainable employment opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Boorloo Labour is seeking expressions of interest from experienced Hoist Operators for an upcoming project in the Perth region, anticipated to commence within the next 1–2 months.

What’s on offer:

• EBA rates - starting at $54 per hour
• PLUS applicable allowances and entitlements
• Weekly pay
• Safe, respectful and inclusive workplace

Applicants must hold relevant current tickets and licences, this includes having a valid (HP) Hoist Ticket and Construction White Card and can demonstrate a strong commitment to workplace safety.

Reflecting on NAIDOC 2026.

Earlier this month, our Director, David, attended the Mirrabooka NAIDOC celebrations alongside his children, taking the opportunity to connect with community, celebrate culture and spend time with people who continue to strengthen and share Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge, traditions and stories.

For us, NAIDOC Week is more than a date on the calendar. It’s a reminder of the importance of listening, learning and building genuine relationships that continue long after the celebrations have ended.

As a proudly Noongar-owned business, we’re grateful to everyone who welcomed us, shared conversations and made this year’s Mirrabooka celebration such a memorable day.

Boorloo Labour is proud to sponsor Gina’s Dream Team - a netball club created in honour of Georgina (Gina) Kickett, a respected young Aboriginal woman whose passion for the game and support for others left a lasting impact on her community. Established by Gina’s family in 2008, the team continues to carry forward her values of dedication, teamwork, and lifting each other up.
 
Eight years on, Gina’s Dream Team has grown into a strong multi‑grade club, with A through D grade teams achieving state titles and consistent success. This year, the A‑grade side is competing for its sixth straight trophy, a testament to the heart and spirit the team was built on.
 
Boorloo Labour is excited to support a team that champions the next generation of girls, creating a welcoming space where players feel confident, supported, and proud to represent Gina’s legacy.
