Community called to support winter donation drive – Blanket Salisbury With Love returns
Local residents are being urged to come together and support those doing it tough this winter, with the return of the Blanket Salisbury With Love community donation drive.
The initiative, proudly led by the Lions Club of Salisbury, will take place on Sunday 28 June 2026 from 10:00am to 1:00pm at the Mawson Centre, Mawson Lakes.
The event is calling for donations of new or near-new blankets and non-perishable food items, which will be distributed directly to local families in need.
Organiser Beau Brug said the campaign continues to grow each year, driven by the generosity of the Salisbury community.
“Every winter there are families in our community who are struggling to stay warm and put food on the table,” Mr Brug said.
“This event is about bringing people together to support one another. Even a single blanket or food item can make a real difference.”
All donations collected on the day will be distributed locally through trusted community organisations, including The Mustard Seed Family Project and Cos We Care, ensuring support reaches those who need it most.
The initiative is also supported by BAPS Charities, alongside the ongoing efforts of the Lions Club of Salisbury.
Community members are encouraged to donate what they can, or simply help by spreading the word.
“Not everyone is in a position to donate, and that’s okay,” Mr Brug said.
“Sharing the event or telling a friend can be just as powerful.”
