Now in 2022 we use this platform to evelate female voices from all corners of community about what is true and driven by passion for change. Founded by Sarah Triffitt in 2015 in order to get more women performing live on more stages in Launceston and Around Tasmania. By creating a nurturing and safe community for Female Musicians and curating thoughtful and well curated events, Music Workshops, Networking opportunities. WSB went on to showcase and promote local and national touring artists form all genres and stages of professional careers. After the birth of our second child in late 2019 then the beginning of the pandemic, I was sent into deep self reflection. With this life, we have so much more to do and give than we do for our communities. I quit drinking alcohol, I stepped away from music, people and places that were causing grief and anxiety and realised my power to choose. To choose to be better. To be better version of myself. For my family and those I meet along the way. In 2021 I enrolled myself into a Diploma of Community Services, now re-trained after 20 years working in Hospitality and 10 years in Music, I have opened my mind, eyes and ears to what really makes a community, the deep seeded and systemic issues that so many face on a daily basis. I am now working in the sector and have decided to let this page and movement evolve with me. Sharing true stories and strength and suffering. Putting a spotlight on societal issues you need to know about and amplifying the voices of women and organisations who are driving to change for a happier, healthier, safer communities.
