Ngaliya Ngara means "we listen to" in Darkinyung language. It's a new wraparound service supporting Aboriginal families on the Central Coast, with a focus on children aged 0 to 5. Meet some of the team in the video.

Whilst this position is open to all individuals, it is targeted to Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people under section 21 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.

You’ll provide day-to-day leadership of mental health allied health social work programs across Gosford and Wyong Hospitals, and shape the models of care that connect acute and emergency services with primary and community care.

You’ll be:
• Leading and supporting mental health allied health programs
• Building partnerships with community-managed organisations, Aboriginal health organisations and government providers
• Managing a budget and reporting on outcomes to the LHD Executive

You’ll bring:
• Tertiary qualifications in nursing or allied health with registration, or qualifications in health service management
• Demonstrated leadership across mental health service programs
• Strong negotiation, change leadership and people management skills

What’s in it for you:

Our Youth Mental Health Initiative team provides assertive outreach and case management for 12 to 25 year olds with complex needs, alongside headspace. It suits psychologists, OTs, social workers, nurses, counsellors and welfare workers with about three years’ mental health experience behind them.
