Huge thanks to Scotty and the XTREME ENGINEERING PTY LTD Team for jumping in and backing us again today.

We’ve taken on a rebuild project for the Calliope Men’s Shed — restoring their bucket so they can safely move materials around the yard, load sand and cracker dust, and shift firewood into trailers.

We love these kind of projects, that matter. Practical support that keeps community spaces running.

The Xtreme Team never hesitate when it comes to the heavy lifting. They show up, get it done, and back what we’re building — every time.

Appreciate you boys 🤝

Twelve months ago, Neph walked through our Industry Cogs program.

Last Friday, we stood beside him as he signed into his Cert III in Supply Chain Traineeship.

That’s the full shift right there — from program, to placement, to career.

Neph has been on site with AlphaHPA as a warehousing assistant, quietly doing the work, building trust, hitting every milestone without the noise.

Now it’s official.

Even better — he’s not doing it alone.

Kiarnya signed on alongside him, making them AlphaHPA’s first ever trainees signed up on site.

That’s not a small moment. That’s a line in the sand.

Proof that when business backs people properly, this is what happens.

Real pathways.Real outcomes.Real momentum.

Neph, Kiarnya — you’ve earned this. Proud is an understatement.

Two weeks ago, Leslie and Michala stepped out of our current transition program into careers that once felt out of reach.

They’ve begun their Process Operations Traineeships with QAL, starting their learning journey at CQUniversity where they are building their knowledge and understanding of process operations before integration into their roles onsite.

Getting the job is only the beginning.

The first few months of a traineeship can make or break someone’s confidence in a new industry. That’s why, working alongside the teams at Queensland Alumina Limited , our role continues well beyond the job offer.

We stay connected, and committed to supporting their transition and integration onto site, checking in regularly to ensure they have the right supports around them to grow and succeed.

Today Matt and Hailey visited CQUniversity to see the training environment firsthand. They spent time in the lab and sat down with Leslie and Michala to hear how they are progressing through their learning.

When industry is engaged and committed, it sends a powerful message to trainee’s:

“You belong here”

We’re excited to be able to share Leslie and Michala’s first steps as they grow into their careers.

Behind the Boots:

Hunter’s Journey

In 2023 Hunter was working the checkout at Woolies when Jon Felton , one of our veteran mentors, struck up a simple conversation that changed everything. Jon saw something in him and invited him into Deploy for a chat about breaking into industry.

Hunter didn’t waste the moment.

He came to us with no licence, no skills, no industry knowledge — but he showed up with a solid attitude, quiet, respectful and a genuine willingness to learn. That’s all we needed. He earned his place in our Industry Cogs program and never looked back.

Hunter put in the work. Every task was new, every tool unfamiliar, but he gave 100% and pushed through. He graduated with entry level tickets, confidence, and momentum. We placed him with HRS as a casual yardie to build experience, and he stuck with it for over a year. In that time he got his drivers licence and knocked over a basic scaffold ticket.

A few months ago, he called me. He wanted more, he was ready to progress. He started applying for site roles. His first shot at mining got him to medical, but he missed the weight requirement. It stung — but he didn’t crack. He reset, hit the gym, and got himself on a health plan and worked on improving is fitness.

Then he applied for a production role at BSL and again asked for our support. Of course we backed him.

Last month I got a message: “I got the job”.
He’s excited to be starting the new year in his new role, - through determination and planning he is exactly where he is meant to be.

These are the stories that matter — not overnight success, but steady, stubborn progress.

‘The spark you see in someone when they walk through the doors at Deploy… and the fire they build themselves grows into a steady flame.’

Congratulations, Hunter. You earned every bit of this.

If you or someone you know are wanting an opportunity to get into industry contact us for more information on upcoming programs.

Behind the Boots:

Entry level to Apprentice

Bailey’s story is one a lot of young people don’t talk about out loud — he did everything “right.” Finished school. Went off to uni. Tried to follow the path everyone tells you to follow.
He quickly realised the truth most people only admit years later:
This isn’t me. This isn’t my life.

So he came back home to Gladstone, not defeated — just honest. He knew what he wanted: an electrical apprenticeship. And he knew he needed to get his foot in the door first.

Bailey already had a strong foundation. Work ethic! Solid! Hands-on skills!Natural Drive! and a cert II in Electro. He was picking up shifts as a carer to keep moving, but his mind was locked on industry. He listened, he planned, and he understood the strategy:
Get an entry-level job. Prove yourself. Build from there.

He did exactly that.

He got his training done, grabbed his tickets, put himself forward, and landed a Process Ops role at BSL — where he spent the next year stacking experience and showing he was committed to industry.

And while he was doing the hard work, we were working behind the scenes — I spent a year flooding his inbox with every electrical apprenticeship link I could find. He stayed patient, stayed focused, kept applying, kept turning up.

Then finally the right door opened — BUT— there’s a twist we didn’t see coming:
The opportunity wasn’t the exact pathway he pictured…
It was better.💥

Anyone who know’s Bailey know he’s always working on a 4WD, fixing machinery or working on something out on his parents’ property. So when the chance came up for an Automotive Electrical apprenticeship, it wasn’t just “close enough” — it was perfect.

This isn’t a kid who “got lucky.”
This is a young bloke who backed himself, followed the hard road, took the advice, trusted the process, and landed in a trade that matches who he actually is.

Bailey didn’t just find a job.
He found his lane.
And he’s living it.

Congratulations on achieving your Auto Electrical apprenticeship with Aces Bailey.

Thank you to everyone involved who have supported Bailey through his journey.
