🌟 Empowering the Next Generation of Support Workers! 🌟

We were delighted to host industry readiness workshops with VICSEG New Futures at their Braybrook and Coburg locations, connecting with aspiring support workers who are ready to take the next step in their careers.

Our sessions focused on helping participants understand how to start and build a career in the support industry, with practical guidance on:

✅ Getting Started in the Industry – Understanding career pathways and opportunities in the support sector.
✅ Compliance & Industry Requirements – Learning about essential compliance, documentation, and workplace expectations.
✅ Interview Preparation – Sharing practical tips and recommendations to help participants approach interviews with confidence.
✅ Mock Interviews – Giving participants the opportunity to practise their interview skills in a supportive environment and build confidence for real-world opportunities.

It was wonderful to meet such motivated individuals, share industry insights, and support them as they prepare for their future careers.

Sometimes, the smallest gestures make the biggest difference. 💛

One of our support workers called me to arrange an appointment so I could help her register on our platform. When she arrived, she brought her two beautiful children with her.

Seeing them reminded me of my own childhood, when my mum would take us to work with her. I remember how those moments could feel, so I wanted to make sure these little ones had something fun to do while their mum and I worked together.

I quickly gathered some stickers, markers, and plenty of paper so they could draw, create, and let their imaginations run wild. 🎨✨

While they were busy creating their little masterpieces, I was helping their mum with her registration.

But then came the sweetest surprise. ❤️
Before they left, I received two little cards, one from each child, filled with lovely wishes and beautiful words.

And honestly, my heart melted. 🥹💌

It was one of those days that had been busy, demanding, and a little stressful. Yet, in the middle of it all, two small gestures reminded me of what truly matters.

Sometimes, we get so caught up in our daily responsibilities that we forget how much a simple act of kindness can mean. And sometimes, the people we think we are helping end up giving us something even more precious in return.

I feel incredibly grateful to work in an industry where people are driven by care, compassion, and the desire to make a difference in someone else's life.

Today, two little artists reminded me that care is not just something we provide. It is something we share, feel, and receive. 💛

And those two little cards?
They will stay with me for a long time.

We were so happy to host two days of informative and engaging sessions at AMES Australia’s Werribee office, supporting individuals interested in beginning their journey in the Disability Care and Aged Care sectors.

Throughout these sessions, we explored essential industry compliance and regulations, the skills and knowledge needed to enter the care sector, and practical strategies for finding employment.

We also shared valuable tips on navigating job applications, preparing for interviews, and building confidence when taking the first steps towards a new career.

But these two days were about more than sharing information: they were about connection, empowerment, and helping people recognise the opportunities ahead of them.

Everyone need to see their potential, develop their skills, and contribute to a community where care, compassion, and inclusion matter. 🤝

Role: Tetum or Bahasa-Speaking Support Worker

Required Experience: 3+ years

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴:
𝘿𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙮 𝙇𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙣𝙜 & 𝙍𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙚:: Assist with personal care, grooming, and morning/evening routines (getting ready, exercises, bedtime).
𝘿𝙖𝙮𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩:Implement therapy strategies and support participation in community outings and enjoyable activities.
𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚: Provide expert support with transfers, mobility, manual handling, and equipment usage.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴:
Fluent communication skills in Tetum or Bahasa/Indonesian.
Strong weekday availability.
Experience supporting clients with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) is a plus!
Mandatory Compliance: NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid Training Certificate, and CPR Training Certificate.
