AI CV: Use It to Get a Job, Not to Take Away Someone Else’s Opportunity
Recently, one of my clients shared something concerning with me.
The CVs that they received were closely matching their job requirements. But during the interviews, many shortlisted candidates couldn't even demonstrate basic Excel skills, despite listing Excel as a core competency on their CV.
That was the key reasons they decided to seek the support from a third-party recruitment company.
This raises an important question: Are we using AI to showcase our skills, or to showcase skills we don't have?
AI is a powerful tool. Use it to improve your CV, highlight your genuine strengths, and present your experience professionally.
But please, don't copy-paste a job description into your CV and claim competencies you cannot demonstrate.
Because behind every job application, there's another genuine candidate who may have the skills, the knowledge, and the experience but might lose an opportunity because someone else's CV looked better on paper.
Use AI efficiently. Use it ethically. Use it genuinely.
Let your CV open the door, but let your skills prove that you deserve to walk through it.
